New Referee Training

JUSA will be training new referees during the JUSA Friendship Games on August 16th.

If you are a new referee and ae interested in refereeing for JUSA this fall and have not received an email in the last couple of days, send a message to referees@jusa.org so you can be added to the distribution list.

There will be additional training on August 23rd, but August 16th is the preferred date as those games are higher level and better for new referees.

How to Become a Referee

If you are interested in becoming a referee and joining JUSA for games this fall, see the “how to” guide here.

Read through the information and follow the instructions to register and take the online modules. If you choose the Grade 8 path, you will also attend a 4-hour Cal South field training session.

There is no minimum age although, typically, our youngest referees are usually at least 11 or 12.

Grade 9 referees can referee all JUSA Recreational and Signature matches up to U14. This level is recommended for referees 15 or 16 and under.
Grade 8 referees can referee all JUSA Recreational and Signature matches up to U19 and can choose to join other referee associations, as they gain experience, and referee all levels of Competitive (Club) youth matches.

Our new referee training is on August 16th and August 23rd. As a new referee, you must attend one of these dates in order to be entered into our online system to sign up for games this fall.
